The brief
The family wanted a home that felt calm rather than grand — a departure from the heavier, more ornate style of their previous villa. The brief called for warm neutrals, natural materials, and rooms that could host large family gatherings without feeling formal.
The approach
We leaned into a restrained material palette — sandstone, olive, and soft linen white — and let texture do the work that pattern usually does. Sculptural lighting and organic furniture shapes replace ornamentation, giving the interior a quiet, tactile richness. The dining area in particular was designed around long-table family meals, with layered lighting that shifts from bright daytime use to a softer evening mood.
Result
A home that reads as considered rather than decorated. The client's main note at handover: "it finally feels like us."
